1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage, work in much the same way. They are widely used to make websites work, and to remember things between visits, such as keeping you signed in.
2. The cookies we use
We use only strictly necessary cookies and storage. These are needed for the service to work and cannot be switched off without breaking core features such as signing in.
| Name or type | Purpose | Set by |
|---|---|---|
| Sign in session | Keeps you securely logged in as you move between pages, so you do not have to sign in again on every click | Cana (via Supabase) |
| Local storage preferences | Remembers small choices in your browser, such as tenders you have saved | Cana |
| Security | Helps keep your account and the service safe from misuse | Cana (via Supabase) |
3. Cookies set by others
Some pages rely on trusted suppliers who may set their own cookies when you use their feature:
- Stripe may set cookies when you make a payment, to process it securely and help prevent fraud.
- Calendly may set cookies if you open its booking tool to book a call with us.
These are used only when you use those features, and are covered by each supplier's own cookie and privacy policies.
4. What we do not use
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use analytics or tracking cookies to build a profile of you or follow you across other websites. Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, UK cookie rules (PECR) do not require us to ask for your consent, so we do not interrupt you with a consent banner.
5. Managing cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Every major browser lets you block or remove them. Please note that if you block the strictly necessary cookies above, you will not be able to sign in or use the service, as they are required for it to work.
Guidance for common browsers is available on their own help pages, and you can learn more about cookies generally at the ICO website.
6. Changes to this policy
If we ever introduce new cookies, for example analytics, we will update this page and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before they are used. Any changes will show under the date at the top of this page.
7. How to contact us
If you have any questions about our use of cookies, email hello@getcana.co.uk. For how we handle personal information more generally, see our Privacy Policy.
